Green IT in a Chemical MNC by Mr Kenneth Goh, Director of Information Systems Shared Services, Rhodia Asia Pacific

In today's society, people and businesses alike are becoming more aware of good corporate behaviour, or lack thereof, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming a key component of an organisation?s business model. So what is CSR and why is it important?

The increasing awareness of climate change and the effects of climate crisis are driving the ?green? revolution locally and internationally. So how is Green IT aligned with CSR or its objectives?

This presentation will shed light on the above questions and also highlight some examples of how a company can go Green with its CSR practices with the introduction or implementation of Green IT initiatives in the company.

Driving Change with Green ICT by Mr Ling Keok Tong, Deputy Director, IDA Singapore

Green ICT is beginning to gain traction worldwide. The impact of ICT on the environment is an ongoing concern. Rising energy costs associated with the powering of ICT equipment and infrastructure is a driver for improving energy efficiency in ICT operations. On the other hand, ICT can be leveraged to develop a sustainable environment in view of the challenges created by climate change. The development and use of ICT solutions can not only increase the efficiency of ICT operations and reduce carbon footprint, it will also create new business opportunities for the industry. In his talk, Mr Ling Keok Tong will share IDA's Green ICT initiatives and how technologists, developers, researchers, government and consumers can work together to drive change with Green ICT.

Enter Once, User Many Times by Dr Sarah Muttitt, CIO, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd

Singapore's healthcare system is facing significant challenges ahead - an aging population, the increasing burden of chronic and emerging infectious diseases, rising costs of new drugs and technologies, limited resources and increasing public expectations. Health information technology is a key enabler of the reforms needed to ensure high quality, affordable and sustainable healthcare. Singapore is on a journey towards the implementation of the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR). Common data standards are a critical foundation to achieving the level of interoperability necessary to ensure meaningful data to support clinical care across settings as well as secondary user such as analytics, surveillance and research. This presentation will discuss the roadmap to the National EHR and the role that standards will play in achieving tangible benefits for patients, providers and the healthcare system.
