Your favorite programming competition - code::XtremeApps:: has been held for the third consecutive year!
This event, which is proudly organised by the IT Standards Committee, aims to create greater awareness on the use and value of standards in programming, while also promoting computer education and cultivating programming talent and interest in Singapore. It seeks to dispel the myth that programming is for geeks and nerds. After all, many of the biggest names in the IT industry, who also rank among the richest persons in the world today, started off as programmers. Who knows, you may start off your journey to be the next 'BIG THING' in the infocomm sphere with your participation in the competition!
This year's competition is held in collaboration with the Health Promotion Board and the Singapore Anti-tuberculosis Association, to educate our youths and the public, through the competition, the benefits of healthy living and the harmful effects of smoking.
The competition comprises two categories:
The competition this year registered a big turnout of 79 participants and 31 teams for the Junior Category, and 199 participants and 76 teams for the Open Category.
